Belinda Baucom Stanford, beloved Wife, Mother, Mimi, Sister, and Friend, passed away peacefully at 2:32 a.m. on June 19, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. She was 58 years old.
Belinda was born on March 18, 1967, in Oneonta, Alabama, to Lillie Lambert Bush and Alvin Thomas Baucom. She grew up in a family full of love, laughter, and resilience. She carried those values throughout her life, touching everyone she met with her kindness, strength, and deep compassion.
At the center of Belinda’s world was her husband and best friend, Paul Stanford. Their love was a steady, unwavering bond that lasted through all of life’s seasons. Together, they built a beautiful life full of faith, laughter, and family. Belinda and Paul shared a deep friendship, a quiet strength, and a love for life’s simple joys. They especially loved going on Jeep rides together — windows down, music playing, and no real destination in mind. Whether it was a spontaneous drive or a planned getaway, they found adventure and peace in those shared moments. Their marriage was a true partnership, and theirs was a love story that inspired everyone who witnessed it.
Belinda was retired from the Marshall County District Attorney’s Office-Drug Task Force Division, where she worked with dedication and integrity. Her true calling, however, was found in the love she poured into her family and her community. For 15 years, she opened her heart and home as a foster parent, offering children not only shelter but unwavering love, guidance, and hope.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Paul Stanford, and her children: Sheena Kladstrup, Ashley Stanford, Haley (Adam) Sparks, Blake Stanford, and Elisa Cordova (chosen in love).
She was a proud and loving Mimi to Amelia, Lilliann, and Willa Kladstrup; Paislee Stanford; Scarlett Stillwell; Arya and Oliver Sparks; and Leslie and Julian Cordova. Her beloved dog and faithful companion, Bella Rose, was never far from her side and will miss her dearly.
Belinda also leaves behind her cherished siblings: Charlotte Stanley and Susan Stevens of Alabama; Donna Sims and Deborah Soles of East Dublin, Georgia; Mike Baucom of Sandersville, Georgia; and Jeff Baucom of Walnut Grove, Georgia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lillie Lambert Bush and Alvin Thomas Baucom; and her brothers, Tommy, Pat, and Scott Baucom.
She was loved deeply by many nieces, nephews, and a large extended family.
Belinda had a deep love for the beach and always said she was a mermaid at heart. She found peace in the sound of waves and the sand beneath her feet. Now, we find comfort in knowing she has finally gained her mermaid tail and returned to the sea she loved so much.
Services to celebrate her life will be announced at a later date. Adams Brown Service Funeral Home assisting the family.
