Barbara Louise Henderson, 76, died at 7 PM Wednesday, June 21, 2023 peacefully at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Dancyville, TN on May 8, 1947 to the late Victor and Ophelia Smith Howard. In 1965 after graduating High School, Lou was swept off her feet by the love of her life, David P. Henderson. They were married on April 3, 1965 in Jasper, AL.

Lou worked most of her life as a seamstress doing alterations. She was a long time member of King City Church. Church was a way of life for Lou, being involved in many of the Church activities. Her pride and joy in life was her grandchildren, who called her Mammaw.

A service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at 3:00 PM at the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until service time at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo. A graveside service will follow at Tupelo Memorial Park. For those unable to attend the service will be live streamed at www.hollandfuneraldirectors.com/live-streaming. Holland Funeral Directors is honored to serve their friends.

Lou is survived by her husband of 58 years, David P. Henderson; her son, David A. Henderson (Melanie) of Nesbit, MS; sisters, Georgia Carver and Janie Hall of Charleston, TN; grandchildren, Corey Coker, Ivy Brooke Henderson, DJ Henderson; great-grandchild, Ella Grace Coker; and many nieces and nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Pamela Louise Thomas; brothers, William Howard, Ben Howard, and Jerry Martin; and sisters, Kathrine Perrin, and Emma Howard.
