Barbara Ann Kelso McWilliams, age 88, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, passed away at home on October 18, 2022, with her beloved and devoted husband, Jerry Louis McWilliams, at her side.

Barbara Ann was born on August 27, 1934, to John Franklin Kelso and Ruth Grower Kelso in Monroe, Louisiana. After graduating from Neville High School in 1952, she attended Louisiana State University then worked part-time at Kelso’s, a family-owned children’s clothing store.

In 1956, she married her high school sweetheart, Jerry Louis McWilliams, and they have enjoyed 66 wonderful years together.

They had two children, Deborah Ann (Bob) Breeden and Leslie Ann (Ken) Davis.  Barbara Ann and Jerry moved to Huntsville, Alabama in 1967, where she decided to dedicate her life to being a loving mother and running their busy household. She was a long-time member of First United Methodist Church in Huntsville, Alabama. Barbara Ann had a gift of making friends with everyone she met and making them a part of her life. She loved to make special desserts and dishes for family and friends.

Later in life, Barbara Ann became a passionate golfer and could be found at the Huntsville Country Club playing golf with her friends. We will miss her deeply.

Barbara Ann was predeceased by her parents, John and Ruth Kelso, and her brother, John Franklin Kelso, Jr. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Louis McWilliams; children, Debbie (Bob) Breeden and Leslie (Ken) Davis; her grandchildren, William Pollard (Erin) Elliott, Jr., Adam Christopher (Victoria) Elliott, Courtney Elizabeth Davis (Kevin) Konstalid, Katherine Kelso Davis (Stephen) Huddleston; and her great-grandchildren, Lila Jane Elliott and William Pollard Elliott III.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to First United Methodist Church in Huntsville or the charity of their choice.

There will be a private family burial on Friday at Maple Hill Cemetery in Huntsville.
