Barbara Ann Coleman Hogue, 78, departed this life for her eternal reward from her Palmetto residence after a long struggle with Dementia/Alzheimer’s. A godly woman, Barbara’s life completely changed when she made a profession of faith in 1990. From that moment on, she never quit serving him. A Golden Rule lady, Barbara loved reading and studying her Bible and attended Church at the Black Zion Pentecostal Church. Completely selfless, she had a servant’s heart and was at her best when she was doing for her family and others. Barbara was born on August 21, 1944 in Pontotoc Co. to the late Edgar Nonan Coleman and Lola T. Coleman. She worked many years as an Assembly Technician for Day Bright Lighting Company in Tupelo. After retiring there, she kept children in her home. “Mamaw” doted over her 10 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. Well done, good and faithful servant!
A service celebrating her life will be held at 11:30 AM Wednesday, December 21, 2022 from the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo with Pastor Charles Wright officiating assisted by Pastor Danny Robbins. Private burial will follow in Lee Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 9AM-service time Wednesday only. Barbara is survived by her children, Kerral Waters (Donna) of Palmetto, Lisa Sanders (Terry) and Tammy Dunn (Mike) all of Saltillo; her step children, Melinda Mason, Dewayne Hogue, Beverly Christopher and their families; 10 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Gary Dean Hogue, a son, Chris Waters and a grandson, Shawn Michael Gillespie and the children’s dad, Junior Waters.
