Florence – Bank Independent teams up with WAFF 48 for the second year in a row for the Joy of Sharing Campaign. All Bank Independent lobby locations in Lauderdale and Colbert County will be exclusive drop-off destinations for collecting toys to distribute to the William Porter Foundation, Safeplace Shoals, Lauderdale County Christian Children’s Home and the Salvation Army Angel Tree Program in partnership with Lexington School.
In 2011, 14 Bank Independent locations in Lauderdale and Colbert County collected over 300 toys for three local organizations. This year each location in Florence will be collecting toys for one of the two local charities:
- Safeplace Shoals – Cox Creek, Darby Drive, Pine Street, Mortgage Office
- Lauderdale County Christian Children’s Home – Florence Square and Killen
“Last year’s donations made a huge difference in all of the communities in Lauderdale and Colbert County,” shares Shoals Area President Bill Howard. “This holiday partnership is important to us because we know the toys that our customers donate will go directly to children in need in our local communities. We always want to find ways to make a difference in our community, and that’s why it was important to us to take part in the Joy of Sharing campaign again this year.”
Bins for the toy drive will be set up in the four Florence Bank Independent locations—along with other Bank Independent locations in Cherokee, Leighton, Tuscumbia, Sheffield, Jackson Place and Muscle Shoals—through Wednesday, December 19. All Bank Independent locations in Colbert, Lauderdale, Morgan, Limestone, Franklin and Lawrence County will be toy drop-off locations, with all of the toys donated to local organizations according to the area.
Additional charities supported by other Bank Independent locations include DHR of Limestone County, Toys for Tots, Committee on Church Cooperation, Cornerstone Church, and Franklin County Fire Department in partnership with their toy drive.
