DECATUR-The Decatur Police Department responded to a theft charge on November 23rd. The arrest of one man on Theft Charges 1st Degree as described by the Decatur Police:
“SYNOPSIS OF OFFENSE & ARREST:
On November 23rd, 2014, an Officer of the Decatur Police Department responded to a theft of a vehicle at Wal-Mart, located 2800 Spring Ave SW Decatur, Alabama. A report was taken for a theft of a White 2003 Chevrolet S-10. The victim stated that the vehicle was stolen while inside the store for just a short time.
There was video surveillance of the vehicle theft.
On November 29th, 2014 Morgan County Sheriff’s Department Deputies, conducted a traffic stop on the stolen White 2003 Chevrolet S-10 near Laceys Springs in Morgan County, Alabama. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Robert Allison Raynor JR. Robert Raynor was arrested on separate charges, non-related to the theft case, and was booked into the Morgan County Jail.
Through further investigation Raynor was subsequently charged on December 1st, 2014 with one count of Theft in the 1st Degree and was later booked into the Decatur City Jail and transferred back to Morgan County Jail in lieu of a $5,000.00 bond. Theft in the 1st Degree is a class B Felony.”
