FLORENCE-Author C.C. Shaw a local author will hold a booking signing on Saturday, May 7 at the Ice Cream Corner located on Mall Road in Florence. Shaw is a resident of Killen and will be on hamd to sign copies of her newest book, Love Yourself Little One. She will be availabe to sign copies of her book from 1:00 P,M, until 3:00 P,M, on Saturday.
C.C. Shaw is a Licensed Professional Counselor and self-taught artist. She returned to college midlife to graduate with a master’s degree in community counseling from the University of North Alabama, Florence, Alabama. Currently working as a mental health psychotherapist, her life has evolved from mother to grandmother, all of which inspired the writing of this book.
Shaw believes that words have power and during her career witnessed the importance of words in shaping children’s sense of self. They learn who they are by listening to the words of the adults they love. This education can affect them throughout their lifetime. “Love Yourself Little One” is a guide to help develop positive communication between caregiver and child.
Shaw is also the author of self-help book, “Free Counseling-How to Problem Solve in Daily Life” where she shares practical approaches to deal with worry, anger, boundary setting, relationship communication, grief, depression, parenting and her own version of a relaxation exercise.
As a self-taught artist, she enjoys experimenting with a variety of mediums. Shaw also enjoys treasure hunting at yard sales, auctions and flea markets.
