Mrs. Audrey Mae Compton, age 83 of Athens, AL passed away on Monday, August 13, 2018 at Limestone Health Facility. Mrs. Compton was born on May 3, 1935 in Limestone County.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Martha Christoph as well as Herman and Mary Ulrich whom lovingly raised her; her husband, Joe Douglas Compton, Sr.; son-in-law, Andrew N. Marks and daughter-in-law, Theresa Marks Compton.
Mrs. Compton is survived by her daughters, Jenny Coleman (John) and Grace Anne Marks; sons, Joe D. Compton (Regina) and Tony Compton; grandchildren, Joey Clem, Amy Jo Smith (Grant), Amanda Coleman, Katie Marks Winton, Joshua Adam Coleman and Drew Marks (Katie); great-grandchildren, Majaiden Winton, Isabella Smith, Locksley Smith and Saw Winton; brother, James William Warren (Janell) ; sister-in-law, Carolyn Thompson and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Compton was a member of First Baptist Church of Athens, AL. She loved her family and being a homemaker. She enjoyed painting, gardening and cooking.
Services for Mrs. Compton will be at 2:00PM on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Daryl Brooks and Dan Anderson officiating. Visitation is from 12:00-1:45 prior to the service. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Adam Coleman, Drew Marks, Grant Smith, Rodrick Kraus, Alex Kraus and Jacob Rupp.
