Mr. Aubrey “Wayne” Stracener, age 77, of the Morgan City community of Union Grove, Alabama passed away at his residence on Thursday, May 1, 2025. Wayne was born in Marshall County, AL on May 15, 1947. His parents were Aubrey Q. Stracener and Mozelle Hayes Stracener. He and Mary Jo Plank Stracener were married for over 52 years. Wayne was in the food industry as manager of Lucky’s Grocery Store in Huntsville, AL. He was a member of Brindlee Mountain Baptist Church.
Wayne enjoyed working around his home and followed Alabama football. During his younger days he spent as much time as possible traveling out west and exploring the Great Smokey Mountains.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Jo Stracener; Niece, Laura Baxter (Rick) and nephew, Randy Turner (Kathy).
Preceding Wayne in death include his parents, Aubrey and Mozell Stracener; and sister, Genelle Turner.
Services for Wayne will be on Sunday, May 4, 2025 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel. The family will greet friends and guests for a visitation beginning at 1:00 pm until the funeral service begins at 2:00pm. Brother Mylon Metcalf will be officiating. Burial will be in Arab Memorial Cemetery. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel entrusted with arrangements.
