HUNTSVILLE-The Huntsville Police have upgraded the charge of Attempted Murder to Murder after 20 month old Alexandria Francis died from a gunshot wound today, May 28:
“Huntsville Police Department Major Crimes Investigators have upgraded the charges against Lionel Francis to Murder. Francis was originally charged with Attempted Murder after the victim, 20 month old Alexandria Francis, was shot after a domestic argument between Francis and the child’s mother. The victim was transported to a hospital in Birmingham where she died this afternoon from her injuries.
Investigators say Francis intentionally shot the victim, who is also his daughter, and then went outside and waited on officers to arrive. Francis was taken into custody without incident at the scene. The crime took place in the 3300 block of Lockwood Court at approximately 6:20 p.m. yesterday.”
