HUNTSVILLE-The Huntsville Police have charged Lionel Francis, 34 with attempted murder in the shooting that took place Friday, May 27. Police got to the home, near Drake and Triana Boulevard, around 6:30 p.m on Friday to find a child had been shot.
Francis is accused of shooting a 20-month-old child during a domestic dispute. Police say the victim was shot during a domestic argument on Lockwood Court in southwest Huntsville.
According to authorities, after the shooting Francis waited on scene for police to arrive and was taken into custody.
The victim, whose name is not being released at this time, has been transferred to a Birmingham hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
