Athens man Dies From Injuries Received In Single-Vehicle Accident

ATHENS-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a single-vehicle accident near Athens that has taken the life of one person:

“A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 2:26 a.m. Saturday, September 13, has claimed the life of an Athens man.

Jeremy P. Patrick, 48, was fatally injured when the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu he was driving left the roadway, struck a ditch and then an embankment. Patrick was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash occurred on U.S. 72, near Shaw Road, approximately 11 miles north of Athens, in Limestone County.

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
