ATHENS-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency issued an update on the Traffic Accident that took the life of a Limestone County man on Tuesday, October 2:
At 4:15 p.m. today, Oct. 3, Scotty Dale Moss, 38, of Athens was arrested and charged with Reckless Murder in the below crash. He is also charged with DUI-Assault for the injuries to the teenage passenger in Reed’s vehicle. Nothing further is available.
DECATUR POST — A two-vehicle crash at 8:40 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, has claimed the life of an Athens man. Lloyd Jason Crawford Reed, 37, was killed when the 1984 Chevrolet El Camino he was driving collided with a 2005 GMC Envoy driven by Scotty Dale Moss, 38, of Athens. Reed was pronounced dead at the scene, and a passenger in his vehicle was airlifted to Huntsville Hospital. Moss, and a passenger in his vehicle, were not injured. The crash occurred on Zehner Road six miles northwest of Athens. Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
