ATHENS – The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted every small business throughout the country. One business in downtown Athens has beat the odds and has exciting news to share with the community.

Toodlebugs Athens, a premier baby boutique store, has increased normal business hours and added an additional employee effective immediately.

The store is located at 107 Market Street East in Athens. The boutique’s new hours will be 10

a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. The boutique carries name brand baby clothes, toys, and essentials as well as offers patrons the opportunity to create registries for newborns and birthdays.

Toodlebugs Athens owner Melissa Anderson is grateful for all the community’s support during the pandemic.

“Without the community’s support we would have had to shut our doors when the pandemic hit,” said Anderson. “I am thankful for organizations like Athens Main Street and the Greater Limestone County Chamber of Commerce who have helped saved my business.”

Along with help from Athens Main Street and the Chamber, Anderson hired a local communications firm to boost the store’s online presence, increased online advertising, incorporated a new logo, and updated the store’s point of sale system to improve the patrons’ shopping experience.

When Anderson decided to increase store hours, she knew she needed an additional employee.

Anderson is thrilled to welcome Athens native Isabella Perry to the team at Toodlebugs Athens.

“Isabella brings a young and fresh energy to our team,” said Anderson. “Isabella jumped in on day one and has already made a huge impact for our store.”

Anderson hopes patrons will continue to shop local and come and meet the friendly staff at Toodlebugs Athens when they visit downtown Athens.
