ATHENS-Athens Arts League is hosting a free Fourth of July weekend Art After Hours event with a concert
featuring JED Eye.
The Huntsville-based rock band plays classic rock to 90s rock and “everything from CCR to ZZ Top to 3
Doors Down to Stone Temple Pilots.” Band member Lisa Williams said the band is inviting the Huntsville
Starlettes to dance for a couple of the songs and for the last finale song. They will be dressed in Patriotic
outfits.
Art After Hours will be Saturday, July 6, at High Cotton Arts at 103 W. Washington Street. Activities and
the concert will be on the street. The event is from 7-9 p.m. High Cotton will be open, and attendees can
shop for locally made art such as paintings, photographs, silk scarves, stained glass pieces and
sculptures.
There will be a patriotic craft for kids, while supplies last, and Kona Ice will sell shaved ice.
“We encourage people to dine with our downtown restaurants and then come out to support our artists
and enjoy live music and festivities,” said Athens Arts League Board Vice President Jennifer Hilton
Sampieri.
