Jasper Man Dies From Injuries Received In Single-Vehicle Auto Accident

JASPER-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a single-vehicle accident near Jasper has taken the life of one person:

“A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 7 a.m. Thursday, January 9, has claimed the life of a Jasper man.

Jeffery N. Johnson, 61, was fatally injured when the 1999 Mercury Villager Wagon he was driving left the roadway, struck a raised berm and overturned. Johnson was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash, was ejected and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash occurred on Alabama 5 near the 166 mile marker, approximately one mile east of Jasper, in Walker County.

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
