DECATUR-The Decatur Police Department responded to an Unlawful Breaking and Entering a Vehicle in progress. Here is how the Decatur Police describe the arrest of one male:
“SYNOPSIS OF OFFENSE & ARREST:
On January 8th, 2015, Officers of the Decatur Police Department responded to 300 Block Wilson Street NE in reference to Unlawful Breaking and Entering Vehicle in progress.
Officer Sharpley and patrol officers arrived in the area, and Officer Sharpley was able to make contact with a subject that fit the description given by dispatch. The subject was identified as 19 year old Steven Cantrell and he was arrested for Public Intoxication, Possession of Marijuana II, and Illegal Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Steven was booked in the Decatur City Jail for the misdemeanor charges where his bond was set at $1500.00 and a hold was placed on him by Det. Hightower pending further investigation.
On January 9, 2015, Det. Hightower made contact with Steven at the jail and through further investigation, Steven was charged with one count of Unlawful Breaking and Entering Vehicle where his bond was set at $2,500.00.
Steven will be later transferred to the Morgan County Jail in lieu of the $2,500.00 after he satisfies his misdemeanor charges with the city.”
