Arrest Made In Credit Card Theft

DECATUR-The Decatur Police Department has been working this credit card theft case since August of 2013.  The case has since ended in arrest.  Here is a Synopsis of the offense and the arrest as told by the Decatur Police Department:

“On August 27th of 2013, A citizen reported the theft of her debit card. Her card was later used to make an unauthorized withdrawal from her account. After an investigation, Haley Marie Rice was developed as a suspect.

On October 25th of 2013, a warrant for Theft of Property in the Second Degree and a warrant for Illegal Possession or Fraudulent Use of a Credit or Debit Card was obtained for Rice.

On February 19th of 2014, Rice was located and arrested by Officer T.D. Jones. Haley Marie Rice was then transported to and processed into the Decatur City Jail. She was then transferred to the Morgan County Jail in lieu of a $5,000 bond.

Illegal possession of or fraudulent use of a credit card or debit card is a Class C felony.

Theft of property in the second degree is a Class C felony. 
The theft of a credit card or a debit card, regardless of its value, constitutes theft of property in the second degree.”
