Funeral service for Arma Jean Turbyfill Hendrix, age 75, of Decatur, will be Wednesday, November 13, 2013, 2:00 p.m. at Beltline Church of Christ with Howard Hendrix, Jr., Scott Bailey, and Dr. Bob Walker officiating and Shelton Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to service. Interment will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Hendrix, who was born January 14, 1938, went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 10, 2013. She dedicated her entire life to her church, her family and friends, and particularly to those in need of her help.
Preceding her in death were her parents, John and Sula Turbyfill of Russellville; two brothers, Joe Turbyfill of Gulf Shores, and Hoyt Turbyfill of Knoxville, TN; and her son-in-law, Chet Humphries.
She is survived by her husband, Howard Hendrix of Decatur; one son, Howard Hendrix, Jr. (Vicki) of Calera, AL; one daughter, Kim Humphries of Decatur; two sisters, Betty Tinsley of Wilmington, NC, and Judy Meeks of Muscle Shoals; seven grandchildren, Nicole Hendrix, Whitney Hendrix, Shelby Hendrix, Skyler Hendrix, Chris Humphries, Cole Humphries, and Cara Humphries.
Pallbearers will be Bill Melson, Harold Martin, Steve Rose, Stan Wallace, Chris Humphries, and Cole Humphries.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial donations be made to Beltline Church of Christ Benevolence Fund or to Autism Speaks, 1060 State Road, 2nd Floor, Princeton, NJ 08540.
