Arlene Christian Rodgers Enright, 96, passed away Friday, June 2, 2017, at The Meadows. She was born March 31, 1921, to Samuel “Bud” Christian and Myrtie Moore Christian. She was a member of Morning View Baptist Church. She worked as a nurse’s aide until age 79 and enjoyed making quilts.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 6, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Chris Burrows and Richard Rodgers officiating. Burial will be in the Friendship Cemetery.
Survivors include her daughter, Tarlie Brooks (Royce) of Fulton; two daughters-in-law, Cecilia Rodgers of Tupelo and Sally Rodgers of Antioch, Illinois; two sisters, Mildred Rock and Virginia Miller, both of Mooreville; eight grandchildren, Richard Rodgers, Lori Barrett, Randy Rodgers, Rodney Rodgers, Teresa Ashcraft, Larry Rodgers, Vicki Van Swol, and Royce Lee. She was blessed with numerous great-grandchildren and great-greats as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Truman Rodgers; three sons, an infant son, Milburn Rodgers, and Don Rodgers; brothers, Clyde, Claiborn, C.B., Creston, and Samuel “Buddy” Christian; and sisters, Luna Donald, Melrose Loague, Varnell Haile, Martha Smith, and Flora Ruminer.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
