Archibald “Archie” Quizon, 66, of Fort Payne, passed away Monday, September 15, 2025. He was born February 5, 1959 in Mabalacat Pampanga, Phillipines. He was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church where he faithfully served the Lord through his ministry of music for 45 years.
Originally from the Philippines, Archie moved to Fort Payne in 1980. As a Computer Programmer, Archie’s places of employment included Black Manufacturing, Desoto Mills, and V.I. Prewett.
A man of many talents and trades, Archie was known in the Fort Payne community as a “One Man Band”, country music album artist, tennis player/private instructor, celebrated pistol shooter, competitive ping pong player, restauranter, magician, and entertaining storyteller. A born performer, Archie found joy in entertaining the customers of his restaurant Archie’s either through song or even a magic performance.
His greatest roles; however, were being a cherished husband, dad, Lolo, brother and uncle within his family who loved him. A devoted husband, Archie often referred to his wife Sing as “his everything”. As a father he encouraged his children to always strive to work hard and do their best. As a Lolo, he loved to make his grandchildren laugh. As a brother and uncle, Archie was known as a problem solver and someone who could always be counted on.
Though he navigated many health problems during the latter part of his life, his strong faith in the Lord gave him hope every day and kept him traveling and making memories with his family as much as possible.
Funeral Mass is planned for 10 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of the Valley with rosary service beginning at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 4 until 8 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Fort Payne.
He is survived by his wife Sing Quizon; daughter Sheena Q. Gregg and husband Terry; son Ace Quizon and wife Ainsley; grandchildren Samuel and Jackson Gregg and Honor Quizon; brothers Roswaldo Quizon and Archimedes Quizon; and sisters Armaflor Pineda and Gayle Rediske.
He was preceded in death by his parents Armando Quizon and Florentina Concepcion Quizon.
