The family will receive friends for two hours prior to service. He will be laid to rest in John C. Terry Family Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life and share fond memories.
It is with great sorrow we announce that Anthony passed away on Monday, December 2, 2024. Anthony was born November 7, 1949, in Town Creek, AL to Ed and Mable Terry, and was the third-born of four children. He graduated from Courtland High School in 1968, and married his high school sweetheart in 1969. He then became a father to two beautiful children.
Anthony was a loving husband, a dedicated father and “Granddaddy,” and a faithful Christ-follower. A trip to the Holy Land with his church in 1980 emboldened his faith and sparked a passion for the things of God that remained aflame for the rest of his life. His years on earth were marked by his generosity, faithfulness, and unadulterated joy. His boisterous laugh was a well-loved and well-recognized sound, and was often accompanied by a “Roll Tide!” He had a green thumb, a strong will, and a kind heart.
He and his spiritual legacy are survived by his beautiful wife of 55 years, Sherron; his son, Brent; and his daughter, Sondra. Forever cherished and remembered by his three grandchildren, Mia, Shayla, and Emma. He is also survived by his brother, Robert Van Terry, and sister, Jo Ann Copeland.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Larry Wayne Terry.
While his sudden departure comes as a great shock, those who knew Anthony have found comfort in their memories of him and the knowledge that he is in Paradise.
Pallbearers will be Josh Terry, Caleb Burden, Scott Norwood, Colin Elkins, Will Patterson, and Jackson McCreless.
