Annie Ruth Harlan, age 79, of Russellville, passed away peacefully on
January 1, 2024.
Annie was a retired nurse, after 20 plus years of loyal service, with the VA Medical Center of Dayton, Ohio. Moving back to her beloved home of Russellville, Alabama in 1985. Her son-in-love Pastor Bobby Baker, fondly called Bobby Louie would then refer to her as Mama Louie. Valerie, her daughter, being the apple of Annie’s eye, will tell you that Bobby, was Mama’s favorite. She was a sweet firecracker, full of spice, being a nurturer to everyone, she would go room to room caring for others at Burns Nursing Home, putting others need above her own. She loved her grandbabies to the moon and back times infinity. Annie had the most beautiful smile, topping it off with an infectious and energetic laugh. We can’t forget Queen Annie, accepting her crown as Senior Queen of Alabama Nursing Home Residents in 2019, for Burns Nursing Home.
Annie is survived by her daughter, Valerie Baker (Bobby); brothers, James Harvey (Sheila), Leo Harvey (Norma); honorary sister, Norma Green; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Sargent, Brenda Harvey, Beatrice Harvey, Judy Harvey; grandbabies, Brittany Perry (Mario), Kristie Warner (Brandon),Chelsea Baker (Greg Ball), Adrian Casey (Tiffany)) and 10 great grandchildren; a host of loving nieces and nephews, cousins and beloved friends that will miss my beautiful Mother’s zest for life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Velma Harvey; son, Garry Harvey; siblings, Albert Sargent, Alberta Sargent, Henry Harvey, William Charles Harvey, John L. Harvey and Nathaniel Harvey.
Visitation will be held at Pinkard Funeral Home of Russellville on Thursday, January 11, 2024, from 10am-12noon. The funeral service will follow at 12 noon in the funeral home Chapel. Pastor Bobby Baker will officiate. Interment will be at Luke Town Cemetery.
