Annie Mae Wells Slayton – Obituary

Annie Mae Wells Slayton, 94, died Sunday, December 23, 2012 at her residence. She was born in Belmont and was retired from Winfield Manufacturing. She was a member of Fairview Holy Church of Christ.

 

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, December 24, at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Belmont, Ms. with Bro. Kevin Rogers and Bro. Scott Bridges officiating. Burial will be in New Bethel Cemetery.  Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, Ms. will be in charge of arrangements.

 

Survivors are five children – Floie Mae Poole, J.W. Slayton (Janice), Gary Slayton (Debra), Ricky Slayton (Debbie) and Phillip Slayton (Charlotte) all of Belmont; Fourteen grandchildren; Twenty-five great grandchildren; Five great-great grandchildren; two brothers-DeWayne Wells (Martha), Nolan Wells (Dorothy); one sister-Hazel Spees; and a sister-in-law-Ina Faye Wells.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Slayton; her parents-Huey and Minnie Wells; Son-Billy Doyle Slayton; Daughter-Jettie Rose Lee Slayton; twins-Bobbie Dell and Joe Nell Slayton; an infant son; two brothers-Bufford Wells and Willie Wells; two sisters-Leona Payne and Lelarae Lawson; son-in-law-Kenneth Poole and a brother-in-law-Jake Spees.

 

Pallbearers will be Johnny Poole, Kenny Poole, Terry Slayton, Jason Slayton, Justin Slayton, Mike Congdon, David Schumaker and Scotty Holland.

Visitation will be 10-2 Monday, December 24, at Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, Ms.
