Annie Katherine Smith, age 89 of Cowan, passed away peacefully Friday, October 21, 2022, at Elk River Health and Rehab. Kathy was born on October 16, 1933, in Sinking Cove, Tennessee to the late James William Singleton and Martha Ion (Garner) Singleton. Kathy was devoted wife and mother, who enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and baking. In her spare time, she would cheer on the University of Tennessee, and other SEC team not playing Tennessee, and the Atlanta Braves. Kathy was a faithful member of Midway Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Smith, children, Bobby Dale Smith and Kathy Diane Smith; and siblings, Daniel Singleton and Raymond Singleton. She is survived by her children, Terry Michael Smith of Cowan, Wanda L. Smith of Cowan, Gregory (Jewell) Smith of Sewanee; 7 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; siblings, James (Carolyn) Singleton of Elk Horn, NE, Emma Nell (Ray) Trussell of Gruetli-Laager, Emmanuel Singleton of Winchester, and Edna (John) Pushala of Winchester; and a host of loving nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 23, 2022, from 12:00pm – 3:00pm with funeral service following at 3:00pm from the chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Bro. Keith Hamilton officiating.
