Funeral services for Ann Mavis Mitchell, age 62 of Ashland, will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2026 at 3:00 P.M. at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland with Bro. David Holcombe and Bro. Travis Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Poplar Springs Cemetery.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Clay County, had been employed with Koch Foods over 38 years, most recently as assistant supervisor in the shipping department. She enjoyed fishing and spending time with her friends and family.
She is survived by her sisters; Charlene Winfield (Michael Spurling) of Ashland, and Sherry Rose Mitchell of Lineville, her brothers; James G. “Rambo” Mitchell (Loretta Lynn) of Ashland and Robert James Mitchell of Lineville, her nephews; Jessie Mitchell of Ashland, Dustin Miles of Lineville, and Edward Smith of Georgia, her nieces; April Mitchell of Ashland, Christine Miles and Ocean Miles (Dustin) of Lineville, her great nieces; Viper, Moon, and Blazer Miles all of Lineville, and her best friends Wanda and Chris Armstrong, and special Godson Jacob Duncan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Thurman G. Mitchell and Mavis Shirey Mitchell, sisters; Patricia Mitchell, Joyce M. Smith, and Elizabeth Mitchell plus several other loved ones.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Miles, Jessie Mitchell, Michael Spurling, Virgil Shirey, Robert “Peanut” Green, and Bill Henry.
The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 from 5:30 until 8:00 P.M. and until service time at 3:00 P.M.
