Logo Icon Mrs. Anita Ann Moore was born in Waynesboro, TN to the union of her parents the late Mr. J.E. (Billy) Devers and Mrs. Verna Mae Castleman Devers. Mrs. Moore was raised in the area of Waynesboro. She would meet and marry her husband Mr. James Lee Moore on November 25, 1976 and the two would make Wayne County their forever home remaining married until his passing on September 19, 2015. She completed her education earning a GED and would continue in her higher learning in the medical field becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse spending 30 years working throughout the area for several nursing home facilities and hospitals. Her love and compassion for those sick and less fortunate would become a larger part of her legacy as she touched many lives throughout the years. She was of the Baptist faith being a member of  Leatherwood Baptist in Waynesboro, TN in her childhood always keeping the church close to her heart. In her leisure time she could be found crocheting, cooking, and scrap booking all related to her true love of her family; she cherished no other time more than the precious moments she spent with her children, grandchildren, great grand children and other family members and friends. Mrs. Anita Ann Devers Moore passed from this life in Columbia, TN on June 26, 2026 at the age of 75 years, and 24 days.

Those left to honor her memory include her children Gayla Reathford Breitner of Columbia, TN; Gregory Earl Reatherford of Columbia, TN; Grant Reatherford of Christinia, TN; Gabreil Lee Moore of Waynesboro, TN and Garrett Moore wife Tiffany of Waynesboro, TN; sister Elaine Matney of Lawrenceburg; grandchildren Alyssa Anderson, Kelsey Breitner, Jacob Breitner, Sidra Reatherford and Steven Reatherford, Jyl Staggs, Makayla Moore and Mason Moore ; great grandchildren Wyatt, Ayden, Aubery, Lucy, Emileigh, Milly, Katie, Hadley and  Andy; as well as several nieces and nephews

In addition to her parents and husband she is preceded in death by her sister Lana Kay Staggs

Graveside services will be held Monday June 29, 2026 at 3:00 pm with Greg Eaton officiating

Visitation for family will begin Monday June 29, 2026 beginning at 1:00 pm till 2:45 pm at the Bates-Love Funeral and Cremation, LLC in Waynesboro, TN.
