Amy Ruth Ewing Abel, 44, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Tupelo, MS to George Alan and Deloria Ruth Williams Ewing. Amy was a devoted wife to Johnny Abel for four years, a loving mother and caregiver for her stepson. She brought joy to everyone she met. She was a member of Dennis Church and was devoted to her church family. She was a source of endless love and strength, always ready to lend a listening ear or a warm embrace. She was kind, patient, strong, humble, generous, teaching her children the importance of kindness, hard work and doing what is right and supporting her husband through all of life’s journeys. She was the heart of our home, teaching us all how to love and will be deeply missed.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 28, 3 p.m. at Dennis Church with Bro. Nathan Hodum and Bro. Andy Barnett officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 28, 12-3 at Dennis Church. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS will be in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by her husband, Johnny Abel; sons, Branigan Ewing and James Kane Abel; daughters, Isabell Ashley and Baylex Ewing; step-children, Jamie Abel (Elizabeth), Keith Abel (Krystal), Jeremy Abel (Kayla) and Johnny Abel II (Shandale); grandchildren, Maddux, Saylar, Glavin, Charlie, Bryson and Lexi; great-grandchildren, Nevaeh, Casen and Brixton; her mother, Deloria Williams Ewing; brothers, Glenn Ewing, Marty Ewing and Steve Ewing and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father; grandparents, Razz Williams and Irene Williams; sister, Denise Ewing and brother, Mark Ewing.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Wood, Jeremy Abel, Phoenix Frederick, Richard Shoffner, Johnny Abel II and Josh McCreary.
