In Loving Memory of Amon Lewis Cantrell
Amon Lewis Cantrell, 75, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on July 4th 2026. While his family grieves his passing, they find comfort and peace in knowing he is now completely healed and rejoicing in his eternal home. Born on May 16, 1951, in Smithville, Tennessee, Amon was the son of the late Lewis and Milus Cantrell. Amon was the devoted husband of Patricia Redmon Cantrell for 57 years. He was a proud father to Jeremy (Carrie) Cantrell and Tanna (Roan) Crain . His greatest joy was being Pa to Maggie Hux (Hunter Hux), Caid Crain, MiLee Crain, Zackary Cantrell, and Jace Cantrell. Nothing brought him greater happiness than spending time with his children and grandchildren. A gifted carpenter by trade, Amon spent many years building beautiful homes. When he wasn’t working, Amon loved spending time outdoors fishing and hunting. Amon was a faithful member of Whorton Springs Baptist Church. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to their dear neighbors, Josh and January Agee and family. Your friendship has been an incredible blessing and will always be remembered with grateful hearts. Although he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, his family rejoices in God’s promise that this separation is only temporary. They look forward to the day they are reunited with him in heaven. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” – 2 Timothy 4:7. Funeral services will be 2 PM Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Robert Haynes and Bro. Mike Hale officiating and burial will follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be on Monday 3 PM until 8 PM and Tuesday 9 AM until the time of the service at 2 PM. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is honored to care for the Cantrell family.
