Alvin “Junior” Richardson passed away of heart complications on Saturday, August 13, 2016. He was born Nov. 10, 1927 in Lauderdale County, living most of his life near the Greenhill Community. He and his wife Lola had relocated to Sheffield, AL in recent years. After her passing in 2014, he resided with his son in Tuscumbia, and with his daughter in Columbia, TN.
He was a faithful member of Center Hill Church of Christ for over 30 years, then attended Westside Church of Christ in Sheffield after he and Lola relocated.
He was a certified mechanic and machinist and retired from the Lauderdale County School System.
He was especially well known for his passion for collecting and repairing old clocks, which began in 1960. His knowledge and expertise of antique clock repair made him many good friends and gave him many years of enjoyment, and he was blessed to be able to continue this hobby right till the end of his life.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years Lola Pearl Hill Richardson, his parents Alvin Sr. & Velma Richardson, one daughter: Rebecca Denise Richardson, three brothers: Robert, James & Elmer Richardson, one sister: Elba Tidwell. He is survived by two daughters: Rene Richardson Lloyd (Bob), of Columbia, TN and Robin Richardson Dent (Felix) of Decatur, AL. Three sons: Michael Richardson, Sheffield, AL, Anthony Richardson (Montez) Greenhill, AL, and Stacy Richardson (Natalie) of Tuscumbia, AL. 9 Grandchildred & 9 Great grandchildren.
Visitation for Mr. Richardson will be Monday, Aug. 15, 2016, from 5:00 – 8:00pm at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2016, at 11:00am at Greenhill Funeral Home, with Miles Stutts & Gerald Sockwell officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Larry Richardson, Bob Lloyd, Kobi Mears, Jason Freeman, Felix Dent & Ryan Fowler.
