Alvin Harold Nix age 87 of Phil Campbell, passed away December 22, 2023.
Harold was a Christian and a member of Shady Grove Freewill Baptist Church. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.
Harold is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Bonnie Nix; children,
Michael T. Nix (Frances), Jeffery H. Nix (Cindy), both of Greenwood, MS; grandchildren, Michael T. Nix Jr. (Meggan), Justin Nix, Kendall Nix (Kristi), all of Greenwood, MS; Lanie Ables (Keith) of Lexington, MS; great grandchildren, Bryce Ables, Jaelyn Ables, Mason Ables, Kylee Nix, Karra Nix, Allie Nix; and a slew of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin Nix and Nisey Lowery Nix; brothers, Charles T. Nix of Phil Campbell, Herschel Nix of Sebring, FL; sisters, Evelyn Frady of Kosciosko, MS, Betty Joyce Pounders (Arthur Boyd) of Burton, MI.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 from 10am – 12pm at Pinkard Funeral Home of Russellville. The funeral service will follow at 12pm in the funeral home Chapel. Bro. Dale Galloway will officiate. Interment will be in Shady Grove Cemetery in the Liberty Hill Community.
Pallbearers will be Michael T. Nix Jr., Justin Nix, Kendall Nix, Keith Ables, Mason Ables, Bryce Ables, Thomas Nix and Jared Nix. Honorary pallbearers are Rodney Nix, Steve Swinney, Paul McDougle and Shane Senkbeil.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Terrace Manor Rehab and Russellville Hospital, for the wonderful and kind way you all took care of not only Harold, but our entire family. From our Hearts, Thank You!
