The Funeral Service for Alvin Chester Fortner, 72, of Hanceville, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at the Cullman Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 12 – 2pm prior to the service on Wednesday. Bro. Heath Riggs will officiate the service. The interment will be in the Center Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Fortner passed from this life on February 12, 2022 at his residence. He was born June 2, 1949 to Cargus & Thelma Love Hammock Fortner. He made custom draperies for thirty-five years. He was an active member of Center Hill Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cargus & Thelma Love Hammock Fortner; brother, Roy Fortner; grandson, Daythan Allen Fortner.
Mr. Fortner is survived by his wife, Gearldine Fortner; son, Kenneth Allen Fortner; step-daughter, Wendy (Michael) Jenkins; brother, William (Jeanette) Fortner; sister, Shirley (Cecil) Worley; grandchildren, Riley Joe Fortner, Michaela (Brett) Jenkins Barker; and a host of family and friends.
