Funeral for Alton Lamar “Joe”  Rose, 66, of Decatur will be Saturday, July 21, 2018, at Parkway Funeral Home, at 2:00 PM with Rev. Dr. Mark Wakefield and Rev. Terry Gillespie officiating.  Burial will be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens.  Visitation will be Friday, July 20, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.  Mr. Rose won his battle with cancer, going to his heavenly home on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at his residence, was born January 2, 1952, to John Will Rose and Nell Shankle Rose.  He was a very loving and loved husband, Papa Joe, father, brother, uncle, nephew and friend. Joe never met a stranger and if he loved you you knew it. He will be missed by everyone who loved him. A special thanks to Meagan, Amanda and the staff of Southern Patient Care.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Grand Child – Ivy Rose Ball
Grand Child – Addie Ren Ball
Grand Child – Diego Olea
Grand Child – Leslie Shelton
Grand Child – Iker Torres
Grand Child – Abigail Torres
Grand Child – Naomi Reyes
Pallbearers will be Jerry Carroll, Tim Montgomery, Wiley Dunlap, Pudd Glenn, Mikey Spillers, Tim McWhorter, Mack Reed and Roger Dutton.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Lawrence County High School class of 1970 Football Players.
