Alton “Buddy” Richard Lewis, age 89 of Winchester, TN, passed away on October 19, 2023, at his residence. Buddy was born on January 21, 1934, in Franklin County, Tennessee, to the late Roy Madison and Rosie Mae (Riddle) Lewis. He retired from Tennessee Tannery as a lead supervisor after many years of service. Following his retirement, he enjoyed tending to his grapevines and acre garden. He would make sure those in his family and community were served with fresh vegetables. On rainy days, he would watch westerns and on Sundays, Nascar cheering on Jeff Gordon and Jimmy Johnson. He will be remembered by his family as a simple man who looked after others. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his life partner, Laura Lewis; siblings Roy Junior Lewis, Mary Lee “Minnie” Holt and Claborn “Cooner” Lewis. Buddy is survived by his daughters, Gail (David) Hambrick, Betty (Mickey) Bradford and Kim (Mark) McClure; eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 23, 2023, from 12:00pm – 3:00pm at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with funeral service following at 3:00pm from the chapel.
