Alta Faye Markwell, age 77 of Winchester, passed away on Monday, January 6, 2020 at St Thomas West in Nashville. A native of Franklin County, she was born on March 13, 1942 in Winchester to the late Jessie Lee and Mable (Rollins) Bolin. Before her retirement, she was employed at UTSI. Alta attended Oak Grove Church of God and loved spending time with her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Markwell; and siblings, Betty Hawkins, Robert Bolin, Milton Bolin, and Donald Ray Bolin. She is survived by her loving children, Linda (Max) Andolsek of Tullahoma; Timothy (Bobbie) Myers of Dayton, Tennessee, and Tony (Jackie) Myers of Manchester; siblings, Jewel Stephens of Winchester, Shirley Stephens of Winchester, Frankie (Bob) Heade of Winchester, Linda (Zeke) Davis of Cowan, and Billy Joe (Iva) Bolin of Decherd; eight grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm on Thursday, January 9, 2020 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 10, 2020 in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Rev. Spencer Van-Order and nephew Terry Turner officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens.
