Alice Kate (Rose) Rogers
June 11, 1940 – January 16th, 2025

Alice Kate Rogers, 84, of Florence, AL, passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior on January 16th, 2025. Born on June 11, 1940, in Cypress Inn, TN, to Charles Harris Rose and Virginia Cypress Morrison Rose, Katie was the embodiment of grace, kindness, and unwavering faith.

Katie married the love of her life, Howard O’Neal Rogers, on December 12, 1959, in Savannah, TN. Together, they built a life centered on family, faith, and service, becoming a cornerstone of their community. As a lifelong minister’s wife, Katie exemplified devotion to others. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family, as she served as a foster parent, providing love and stability to many children.

Katie pursued her passion as a beautician, offering not just her skill but her warmth and listening ear to all who entered the salon. Her greatest joy, however, came from her role as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She is preceded in death by her parents, several siblings, 1 grandchild and 1 great grandchild

Katie is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Howard Rogers; her devoted children: Charles Rogers (Trish), Malinda Balentine, Diania Clemmons (Mike), Jana James, Tamela Shelby (Carson), Penny Rogers, Dawson Rogers, and Mary Alice Willis; her 21 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Boyd (Blanche) Rose, Martha Hill, and Josephine Morris; and a host of extended family and dear friends.

Katie’s life was a testament to her faith in Christ and her commitment to the Church. She was a member of the Savannah Church of Christ, where she will be remembered for her warm smile, her heart for service, and her love for her church family.

Visitation will be held at the Savannah Church of Christ, Monday January 20, 2025 from 11:30 am until 1:00 PM followed by a funeral service celebrating Katie’s life at 1:00 PM. Services will be officiated by Matthew Balentine and Dustin Perkins. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens in Savannah, TN.

The family expresses deep gratitude for the love and support of friends and community during this time.

Katie’s legacy of faith, love, and service will continue to inspire all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
