Alice Faye Weaver Ashburn, 73 of Arab, the Ruth Community, died Wednesday February 1, 2017 at her residence.
Mrs. Ashburn was born July 8, 1943 in Marshall County to Buell Weaver and Vila Light Weaver. She enjoyed running her home catering business until her retirement. Mrs. Ashburn was a 1961 graduate of Arab High School. Her husband Randall Ashburn preceded her in death on November 13, 2008. She enjoyed cooking, playing the piano and working in her flower garden.
She was a member of Ruth Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter: Krystal Genease Johnson; a brother and sister-in-law: Bruce and Marilyn Weaver; nieces and their husbands: Denise and David Bazzel and Donna and Bruce Hawkins and a nephew Donald Weaver.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday February 4, 2017 at Ruth Baptist Church with Brothers: Kenneth Smith and Jimmy Robinson, officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Oak/Ruth Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Friday February 3, 2017 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel. She will also lie-in-sate at the Church from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
