Alice Faye ParkerWith heartfelt sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and faithful servant of the Lord, Alice Faye Parker, who went home to be with her Savior on September 19th, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on September 2nd, 1944, in Arab, Alabama, Alice was the cherished daughter of James and Allie Miller. She grew up with strong Christian values that would guide her entire life. On December 14th, 1962, she married John Lester Parker, and the two built a life together full of love, family, and wonderful memories.

Her life was filled with old Bible hymns, gratitude, and quiet devotion — just like the verse she has written in her Bible: “Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” — Ephesians 5:19–20

She is survived by her husband, John Parker; her sons, Keith Parker (Kristy) and Phillip Parker; and her grandchildren: Robert Parker (Laura), Tori Parker Bigoney (Cody), Jarrod Parker, Taylor Parker (Kaysen), Bradley Parker (Destini), and Logan Parker; her siblings, Joyce Mcwhorter, Diana Smithson, and Gene Miller. She was especially proud to be a great-grandmother to Briella Parker and Evelyn Parker, who always brought a smile to her face.

She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Allie Miller, and her siblings: Vernell Faulkner, Louise Dyar, Lois Wirt, Eulene Cantrell, Glenda Chester, Billy Miller, James Miller, and Alton Miller.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 21st, 2025 from 1:00PM to 2:00PM at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel Funeral Home located at 1340 North Main St Arab, Alabama 35016. The graveside burial service will immediately follow at Gilliam Springs Baptist Church. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.

Though our hearts are heavy, we rejoice knowing Alice is now resting in the arms of the Lord, reunited with loved ones, and hearing the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” – Matthew 25:23.
