Alice Elizabeth Turberville Locker – Obituary

Alice Elizabeth Turberville Locker, 91, of Florence, died on Thanksgiving Day. Born in Colbert County, she was the daughter of Martin Rupert Turberville and Sarah Alice Hastings Turberville. She was a member of the St. Michael’s Catholic Church and was a founding member of the Friends of the Library and the Kennedy-Douglas Center for the Arts. Mrs. Locker was also a member of the Alamance Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Visitation will be Monday, November 26, 2012 from 10 – 11 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church with a mass of Christian burial celebrated at 11 a.m. Officiating will be Father Edward Markley, O.S.B. Burial will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
Mrs. Locker was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Locker.
She is survived by four children, Lucy Locker Crosby, Susan Locker Farris, John A. Locker, Jr., and Leticia Locker Wood; and eight grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Chris Kimbrough, Larry Turberville, Mike Hofmann, Hugh Walker, David Locker, and Barry Crosby.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Friends of the Library, St. Michael’s Catholic Church or a favorite charity.
