The family of Mrs. Alice Elizabeth Shankland Parramore, age 100, will receive friends at a memorial reception on Sunday, March 27th from 2:00pm – 4:00pm in the Fellowship Hall of First Presbyterian Church, Trenton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
 
Mrs. Parramore passed away on March 3, 2022. Daughter of Mary Herron and Charles B. Shankland, she grew up in Dyersburg, TN, graduating from Dyersburg High School before attending Judson College in Marion, AL and graduating from Memphis State College. During World War II she began a nearly twenty-year career as an air traffic controller with the Federal Aviation Administration, serving in Greensboro, NC and Pensacola, FL. A lifelong Presbyterian, Mrs. Parramore was a devoted and active member of First Presbyterian Church in Trenton. She was also a volunteer with the American Cancer Society for many years and a member of the Daughter’s of the American Revolution.
 
Mrs. Parramore was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John W. Parramore, and her sister, Mary Shankland Baumann. Survivors include her son, John W. Parramore, Jr.; niece, Beverly Baumann Coleman and nephew, J. Fred Baumann, III (Karen); grand-nieces, Jayme Baumann Atkins (Bret) and Janie Coleman Beck (Michael), grand-nephews, Adam F. Coleman (Sarah) and Anthony F. Baumann (Keely); great-grand nieces, Isabelle F. Coleman, Cecilia H. Beck, Margo M. Beck, S. Blake Atkins, and Pepper J. Baumann, and great-grand nephews, Mason A. Coleman and C. Bodie Atkins.
