albert-roberson-1478718018Albert W. “Al” Roberson, age 75 of Arab Alabama died Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at Shepherd’s Cove Hospice of Marshall County.
Mr. Roberson was born February 9, 1941 in Etowah County to Albert Eli Roberson and Sarah Wilbanks Roberson. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Vietnam War and later retired. He worked for TMDE Support for the Redstone Arsenal until his 2nd retirement. Mr. Roberson was a Mason, he enjoyed being a part of the Ham Radio group and was past President of the Brindlee Mountain Ham Radio Association and past President of the Arab High School Band Boosters.
He was a member of Arab First United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years Linda G. Hill Roberson; his children: Nancy Dowdy, Joseph Cole, Vickie and Tony Hendrix, Missy and Marcus Flack; brothers and sisters-in-law: Bill and Diana Roberson, Jimmy and Peggy Roberson; sisters and brother-in-law: Patricia Farmer and Sarah and Buddy Walden; grandchildren: Brandi Campbell, Meghan and Will Brunson, Kayla Dowdy Bitner and Matt, Trey Dowdy, Nathan Thorne, Kennedy Sims, Shawn Flack and Tyler Flack; great grandchildren: Michael Campbell, Skyleigh Campbell, Jason Campbell and Dolly Brunson. He was preceded in death by a brother: Grover Roberson, sisters: Gwendolyn Roberson and Rebecca Kilgo.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday November 11, 2016 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with Rev. Steve West, officiating. Burial will be in Arab Memorial Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Pallbearers will be U.S. Marines
Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations to Arab High School Band – 511 Arabian Dr. N.E. Arab, AL. 35016
