Albert Hugh Childress, age 87, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2026. Born to the late James Isaac and Cora Mae Slaton Childress on January 22, 1939.
Albert is survived by his children Lisa (Mike) Landers, Stevie (Pam) Childress, and Brian (Delia) Childress; grandchildren Jolie Wells Price, Jace Wells, Colton (Brittney) Childress, Tanner (Meagan) Childress, Lance (Jamie) Childress, Christian Whitmore, Tanly (Kevin) Childress, Tarrah (Jon) Wright, and Jessie Smith; and 21 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife Wilda Ree McCauley Childress; son James Howard Childress; brother S.J. Childress; sister Cora Nell Childress; and grandparents Jabe & Ann Bryant Slaton and U.S. & Magnolia Johnson Childress.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 2pm at Mt. High Missionary Baptist Church, a lie-in-state will be held an hour prior to service, burial will follow at the church cemetery. A Visitation will be held at Adams Brown Service Funeral Home Friday evening February 6, 2026 from 5-8pm.
Pallbearers will include Jace Wells, Colton Childress, Tanner Childress, Lance Childress, Kevin Moise, and Drake Price.
