Adalbert Kanka – Obituary

Adalbert Kanka, 91, of Florence, passed away on December 31, 2017 at his residence. He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He served our nation as a member of the United States Coast Guard in World War II.

Visitation will be on Thursday, January 4, 2018 from 3:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church with recitation of the Rosary following. A mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 5, 2018 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church with Rev. Father Amos Jacob officiating. Burial will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard F. Kanka and Evelyn Ann Kanka.

Survivors include his wife, Theresa Andrus Kanka; sons, John, Christopher and Adalbert Jr., daughters, Sandra, Lynn, Marijo and Stacey; 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
