ACM nominates local radio station KIX96

acm awards 2013FLORENCE – The Academy of Country Music in Nashville has nominated a Shoals radio station for “Small Market Station of the Year”. The nomination goes to KIX96 -WXFL 96.1FM, Florence. The ratio station, founded by music legend, the late Jerry Phillips, got word Wednesday that it had been honored by the Academy with this nomination.

Here is what KIX96 had to say about the nomination on their Facebook page yesterday, “Just got the news that we’re nominated for the ACM small market station of the year!!! Thanks for making us your station for today’s best country and the legends, Kix Country.”

KIX96 is in competition for the honor with KCLR of Columbia, Mo and WYCT of Pensacola, FL.

The Quad-Cities Daily congratulates the KIX96 family on this remarkable honor, and we wish them the best of luck when the winner is announced at ACM’s “48th Annual ACM Awards” on April 7th.
