TUSCUMBIA – With no money to float a million dollar-plus bail, accused child molester, Jeff Eddie headed back to the Colbert County Jail this morning after a brief court hearing with Judge Chad Coker.
Eddie, the disgraced former Youth Minister of Highland Park Baptist Church, has been charged with numerous felonies relating to his alleged sexual activities with children who attended the church.
In today’s brief courtroom appearance, Eddie’s lawyer Billy Underwood waived a preliminary hearing of the charges and withdrew a bond reduction request. Judge Coker remanded the case to the Colbert County Grand Jury.
The Quad-Cities Daily was outside the Colbert County Courthouse this morning when Eddie was being led across the street back to his jail cell.
