Fatal Crash Near Killen Leaves One Dead And Three Injured

KILLEN-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a two-vehicle accident has taken the life of a Tennessee woman and sent three other people, including juveniles  to hospital with injuries :

“A two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 10:15 a.m. Thursday, April 30, has claimed the life of a Saint Joseph, Tennessee woman.

Teresa D. Bretherick, 61, was critically injured when the 2000 Jeep Wrangler she was driving was struck by the 2016 Jeep Cherokee driven by an 18-year-old juvenile from Lexington. Bretherick was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash, was ejected and air-lifted to Huntsville Hospital for treatment. Bretherick succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased while at the hospital.

The juvenile driver of the Cherokee and an 18-year-old juvenile, who was a passenger of the Cherokee, were both injured and transported to a local hospital for treatment. Kimberly Spears, 57, of Florence, who was a passenger in the Wrangler, was injured and air-lifted to Huntsville Hospital for treatment.

The crash occurred on U.S. 43 near the 330 mile-marker, approximately three miles north of Killen, in Lauderdale County. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
