Florence Police Investigation Leads To Suspect Arrest For Child Sexual Abuse Material

FLORENCE-On Friday, April 9, 2026, Florence Police Detectives, along with agents with the FBI, responded to Grandview Campus Place in reference to information received that Darrius Darby, 19, had exchanged child sex abuse material (CSAM) with another person. During an interview with Darby, he admitted having images of children on his cell phone.

The phone was seized, and a search warrant was obtained to review its contents. During a forensic examination of the phone, CSAM was found. Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Darby.

On April 23 2026, Darius Darby was arrested for forty counts of 13a-12-192(b), Possession of obscene matter containing visual depictions of persons under 17 years of age involved in obscene acts.

Darrius Darby is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
