Mrs. Kathy Shaddox Cross of New Market, Alabama, passed away Monday. She was 75.

She was born on June 22, 1950, in San Diego, California. Kathy was an avid reader and loved to travel. She served in the United States Army during the time of the Vietnam War. She was a very easygoing person and, most of all, will be remembered as a proud grandmother who adored her family.

Mrs. Cross was preceded in death by her parents, Conway and Olsie Shaddox; and her sisters, Sandy Shoopman, Carol Shaddox, and Lynn Rylander.

Surviving family members include her husband, Fred W. Cross; her children, Ronald Hammett and Michelle Ortakales (Chris); her grandson, Jace Stevens; her niece, Robin Tucker; and her nephew, David Rylander. She is also survived by many other family members and friends.

Hazel Green Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
