Margie Erline Messner, 87, of Tishomingo, Mississippi, passed away Monday, April 27, 2026, at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth. Erline was an incredibly kind and thoughtful woman that made friends with everyone she came across. Even on her toughest days, her smile never faltered, and she always tried to take care of others. She was a fantastic cook and always kept a hearty garden, which is where she enjoyed spending most of her time. Throughout the years, her hard work ethic was evident in her life as she did everything from tending the fields by hand and mule to taking excellent care of her parents, her husband, her dogs, and her cats. Erline was a longtime member of Burgess Creek Freewill Baptist Church and was very dedicated to her church and her faith. She tried to be involved in any way she could and loved teaching the children’s classes when she was able.
Erline is survived by her husband, Billy R. Messner; her nieces and nephews, Debbie, Larry, Steve, Lynn, Terry, Lisa, and Linda; her great-nieces and great-nephews; and a host of other loved friends and family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ethel and Allen House; her brothers, Arville, Audie, and Jerry House; her niece, Carolyn L. Gray; her mother-in-law, Zilphia Bell Messner; and her father-in-law, Arther Messner.
