Annie Jo Ridnour, age 90, of Athens, Alabama, passed away at Madison Hospital on Thursday, April 9th, 2026. She was born on March 3rd, 1936, in Athens, Alabama to Rheubert Ordway Johnson and Sarah Dana Pepper Johnson.
Mrs. Ridnour is survived by her son, Andrew Ridnour, along with his wife Amy; grandchildren, Sam Ridnour, Alex Ridnour, Leah Ridnour, Hope Ridnour, and Nathan Ridnour; nephews, Chris Lentz, Gary Lentz, Tommy Lentz, Mark Ridner, Brad Ridnour, Scott Ridnour; and niece Marchia Patterson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Wilburn Ridnour; her parents; sister, Joyce Lentz and brother-in-law, Thomas Lentz.
There will be a visitation on Saturday, April 25th, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:15 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel, with Brandon Pressnell officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Ridnour was a member of the Church of Christ. She attended the East Limestone Senior Center as long as her health allowed. She loved crafts, crochet, sewing, cooking, gardening, feeding humming birds, her dog Phoebe, and her grandchildren who knew her as Granny.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Ridnour, Sam Ridnour, Chris Lentz, Gary Lentz, Roscoe Fields, and Jerry Williams. Honorary pallbearer will be Nathan Ridnour.
